LEFT // publication, exhibition
An interactive exhibition and publication that use typography to explore and contrast the milestones of left-handers throughout history, destroy lingering connotations from the past and celebrate the left-hander’s uniqueness.
Traditional serif type is warped and disfigured as a representation of the historical theories expressed. This contrasts with a modern, dynamic typeface that I designed specifically for the project, representing the way left-handers do not fit within the grid created to suit a right-handed world.
This project received a merit from the International Society of Typographic designers (ISTD) in the student assessment scheme and an Excellence in Typography Award from the Australian Graphic Design Association (AGDA).
